Descriptions

Learn their tongue. Read the blow before it lands.

Three lengths, ready to quote.

Short

Babel Destiny is a hardcore isometric soulslike in the Tower of Babel, where every enemy announces its blow in a dead language.

Medium

Every enemy in the Tower of Babel announces its blow in a dead language. You can't read it, so you dash. Learn its letters, and the same attack becomes a window you can answer. Babel Destiny is a hardcore isometric soulslike for PC where each floor keeps a statue that grants a word of power and three letters of their tongue: every power you earn teaches you to read.

Long

In the first days all people spoke one Word. With it they raised a tower toward heaven. God did not destroy the Tower. He sealed it, and the one Word broke into many tongues. One envoy is sent to climb it, with a rod, a bell, and not one word of its tongues.

Every foe speaks its blow before it lands: a word that burns above it as it winds up. While the word burns red, you can't read it. You can't parry it and you can't guard it. You dash, and you live. Each floor keeps a statue that grants a word of power and three letters of their tongue. Learn them, and the same blow reads white: same wind-up, same speed. The body never lies. But white can be answered: parry on the beat, and the bell rings.

The combat is committed. No animation cancels, no spam that skips its recovery: the hit lands where the blade ends its travel, never before. Guard is a bar, and every parry notches their posture. Break it and they kneel, and a kneeling foe has one answer left: leap, and a bell falls from the sky.

The Tower is climbed. Not a menu of rooms: a place. Leap between floating islands, cross the sea of ink stone by stone, and climb to the seal that holds each bell. Four strata, four keepers, forty floors... or not. Each stratum is its own world with its own tongue, and each ends in a keeper with a grammar of its own: every keeper is an exam.

The free demo in Steam Next Fest, October 19–26, 2026, climbs the first stratum, the Scriptorium: its chambers, four words of power, and the first keeper. At least two hours, if you read well. Babel Destiny releases in January 2027 on Steam for Windows PC.
